He takes her in.
She doesn’t talk. She barely eats. Most days, she seems completely detached from the world around her.
What follows is not a sweeping romance, but something much quieter. It’s the gradual process of learning how to trust again through small acts of kindness, shared routines, and moments of connection that make the weight of each day a little easier to bear.
