Introduction:
You’re in luck today. Although I am aware that you have just started your pilot training with the ISC, it appears that we will be expediting your schedule. As soon as possible, we will send you on your first mission. The plane is already being warmed up for you by the technicians.
Within the next hour, a meteor shower that has not yet been spotted will travel over this area of space. Unfortunately, we’re sitting ducks because Sycamore Station’s defenses are all down for maintenance. All capable spacecraft are to launch right now with their armaments hot, per the commander’s orders. And you’ll be traveling with them because we don’t have enough pilots.
Don’t worry, I’ve seen your scores in the simulations. Those asteroids are tough, but they ain’t invincible. Just hit them with a well-placed HE round and they’ll turn to dust. Just watch out for the big ones; they may take a couple hits.
Make us proud, pilot. The lives of everyone on this station are depending on you.
