Introduction:
Violet Memoir is a homosexual romantic drama visual novel with elements of psychological suspense that follows Wallace, a freshman in college, as his first semester is thrown into chaos after he discovers a journal linked to a tragedy in his dorm. He starts looking into the diary’s backstory with his new pals, with whom he has been matched for a group project, but things soon take a strange turn as ancient demons come out of the closet to torment them once again.
Follow Wallace as he navigates the perils ahead and the comforts of the new people in his life to learn about love, trauma, healing, and solace.
Controls for Keyboard:
- To activate the interface and move the dialogue along, press Enter.
- To move the conversation forward without making any selections, press Space.
- To move about the UI, use the Arrow keys.
- You may reach the game menu by pressing Escape.
- Holding down CTRL will allow you to bypass the conversation.
- Toggle conversation skipping by using Tab.
- To return to the previous conversation, use the Page up button.
- Click “Down” to access the dialogue at a later time.
- To hide the user interface, press H.
- To snap a screenshot, press S.
- Toggle assistive self-voicing with V.
- To enter the accessibility menu, use Shift+A.
Controls for Mouse:
- A left click advances the conversation and opens the interface.
- The user interface is hidden with a middle click.
- The game menu may be accessed with a right-click.
- To return to the previous conversation, click the rollback side button with the mouse wheel up.
- Downing the mouse wheel advances to a subsequent conversation.

My name is MissingKeys, I’m the writer and leader of this project. I’ve been writing for over a decade but this is my first time diving into a serious project like this. I also run under the pen name Michael Skye when publishing my works online. While I have a lot of experience, this is my first time writing in the visual novel format.
It’s a strange format that I’m still adjusting to (as well as writing in first person), as well as psychological thriller being a genre I’m not used to writing, so any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
