X-YZE

GENRES
Introduction:
X-YZE (read as “excise”) is an action game featuring bump-style combat and a mysterious short storyline.
Features of the game:
- Play as a unique creature in a bump-combat action adventure!
- Experience mostly linear “servers” (levels), each featuring distinct daemon enemies, hazards, and a climactic boss battle.
- Unlock Arcade Mode to replay servers and bosses for practice or speed runs.
- Enjoy 2–4 hours of gameplay (under an hour possible in Arcade Mode).
- Discover a 3,000-word mysterious short story, revealed gradually throughout and between servers.
- Supports both keyboard and gamepad.
- Features original music, sound effects, and artwork crafted exclusively for the game.
Mechanics:
- BUMP COMBAT – There’s no attack button — simply walk into daemons to automatically strike them.
- DASH – A versatile move that works equally well for attacking and dodging. (Note: The dash ability isn’t available at the start of the game.)
- DIAGONAL MOVEMENT IS FASTER – Yes, it’s intentional. No, the vectors aren’t normalized — and that’s the point.
- ATTACK GAUGE – Each hit charges your gauge to boost damage output, but taking even a single hit from a daemon resets it completely.
- DAEMON & SERVER VARIETY – While player mechanics are simple yet deep, the real challenge and excitement come from how they interact with diverse daemon types and level (server) designs.
