Introduction:
The world came to an end. Not even the unpaid overtime.
Julian, who works as a janitorial drone operator in the domed city of Megiddo and occasionally creates art in the Exchange’s virtual environment, is happy with his peaceful existence. However, when an old buddy he thought was dead reappears two years later, his daily tranquility is upended.
Even before his current problems, Ash’s life was difficult. He struggled for every inch of survival, came to terms with his gender identity and transitioned, then fled from everything and everyone he knew. He is now engaged in combat once more, and this time he might not be able to win by himself.
But the mysteries of Ash’s past become increasingly perilous even as the two reunite and struggle with the pressing issues of survival. The two will become entangled in a scheme that will rock the foundations of their world, as well as who they are to themselves and to each other, as they cooperate to save him.
