Introduction:

Unhandled Exception is a single project that is both my first Godot project and my first (kinetic) graphic novel. It was originally intended to be submitted for the Novembuck 2025 Game Jam, but I was unable to finish everything in time. As a result, I made the decision to take my time and finish the game, or at least the portion of the plot that was ready for the jam. (It’s a “to be continued” kind of agreement.)

The narrative is told from the viewpoint of Zac, a college student who harbors strong feelings for the games he once played. Additionally, there’s Villow, who stands out from the group, and Randal, his roommate, who has the appeal of a sleeping bitch face. (I apologize; I’ll stop.)

Even though it’s only the first project, it establishes the foundation for any prospective similar ventures in the future. I’ve long dreamed of bringing the Ren’Py visual novel format to the 3D environment, therefore I’m thrilled that my first proof of concept is now available for you to test.
